Food Culinary

Glodok Market

Well, this is the first story in my blog after a long....... time ( I thought my last story in this blog when i still in first grade in college -_-).
Yap, in this story i will publish about my lunch story in the famous Chinatown in West Jakarta, the one and only, Glodok Market.

As a last year post graduate student in Jakarta (YEAH i'm still student in my sweet twenty-xxx), and got a internship workplace in West Jakarta, lunch time is the most interesting time for me. Finding a ha*am food in Jakarta, especially in Central and South Jakarta is difficult, especially when you ever ate delicious ha*am food in Medan. I used live in North Sumatera ( the heavenly place for CULINARY in Indonesia ) and got internship in West Jakarta is the opportunity for me to eat ha*am  food in Jakarta.

Glodok covers three main areas, namely Gang Gloria (Gloria alley), Pancoran street and Petak Sembilan. When you search Glodok food in Google, you can find many delicious recomendation food in this place. I also people who search that and proved that review in my own perspective.

 First, Kopi Es Tak Gie.

Established in 1927, Kopi Es Tak Gie is the first place in my bucket list in Glodok Market. I always interest in old culinary spot in every new place. I and my friend (my postgraduate friend and also has internship in West Jakarta) searched what is the most recommendation in this place,( I thought we searched more than ten blogs ).Finally, we found Nasi Campur and a glass of signature coffee in this place is the suitable lunch menu for us.

Kopi Es Tak Gie

Finding this place bring a funny moment for us. We used public transportation from our internship workplace. We walked around Glodok Market, stayed calm however we didn't know where is Kopi Es Tak Gie, and we didn't use GPS on our phone ! (OMG what is in our mind in that moment hahaha) and the end, we asked asked older people in that place. Good Idea !  We found that place.

Unfortunately, we can't eat our bucket list food Nasi Campur and got another Nasi Campur outside Kopi Es Tak Gie. I must get that FOOD next time !!!

Nasi Campur Outside Kopi Es Tak Gie

In my own perspective, this food has a so - so taste. Beside ha*am meat, you can find chicken too. Personally, i can't find my ultimate taste of Nasi Campur (100% delicious ha*am meat) but yeah if you want to try something new in your Nasi Campur ingredient such us inside part, maybe you will like this food (I really not like that part). Talk about cost for this food, IDR 40k (huff)

Talk about coffee, this place has a good coffee, bring us to old memory and make us realize we are grow up.  You can choose two option coffee, with milk or original black coffee. I choose milk coffee for lunch.

Coffee plus Milk
This taste of coffee is not special but good, not strong enough (probably because the milk) suitable for not addictive coffee (me too). Cost for this coffee is IDR 17k (price 2017).

Enough for one day lunch in Glodok Market ? Absolutely BIG NO !
Next lunch, we came again to Glodok Market to find another recommendation food in this place. Who know about BAKMIE AMOY ?

Yeah, the street food in Gloria Valley is the good destination for our lunch.

But for that moment, i didn't choose ha*am food. I choose Bakmie Ayam  dengan pangsit (chicken noodle with dumplings) and hot tea.

Good taste for chicken noodle, i like the noodle and the portion for this food (BIG PORTION). Price for this food IDR 32 (Pardon me, I forgot about real price that moment, but range of price between IDR 28k-IDR 32k).

Chicken noodle with dumplings

When i and my friend enjoyed our lunch, this view also interest............. us

Turn right and you wil find....... (1)

Another the famous food in BAKMIE AMOY is Bakso Goreng (Fried Meat Ball). With IDR 6k (price 2017), you can enjoy goooood food from ha*am meat.

Fried Meat Ball (2)

Well, to summarize experience in Glodok Market, I will score food and drink from Kopi Es Tak Gie (hoho)

Nasi Campur 2/5

Bakmie Amoy
Bakmie Ayam (Chicken Noodle with dumpling) 3/5
